Evaluation

The evaluation of using the Smartboard technology to increase students’ abilities in problem solving will take place in a number of ways. 
 

  • A rubric will be used to evaluate students’ mathematical reasoning skills, their ability to provide a clear explanation of their work, the ability to demonstrate strategies and procedures used in solving a problem, how they worked collaboratively, their ability to use Smartboard technology, and their ability to produce a form of digital multi media to demonstrate a project. 
  • Prior to implementing this project, classroom teachers will be given a survey to complete which will measure observations of student confidence in developing strategies to solve math “story problems.”  The survey will be given again at the end of the project to see if student abilities increased.
